I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2006. I then went through a divorce an was dealing with more than I could handle, as my daughter then was 16 an was sexually abused by my x husband. My gp put me on ativan and lexapro when my daughter attempted suicide, to help with my depression and anxiety. I later got a dog to help me out. I still have this dog, he is what helps me get through things. I just recently signed a lease on a house that I am scheduled to move in on December 15, 2018. However I didn’t realize that the lease stated no pets. I have not been without my dog since I got him. I talked to my agent and he told me to get a emotional support animal letter. He is aware that I have multiple sclerosis. I can’t afford to lose the money that I have down on the house, but I can’t be homeless either. I have read up on the requirements, however I am not under the care of a psychiatrist, so I don’t know what to do. I also have read that there are a lot of bogus ESA letters and I can’t get evicted. I don’t fly or travel, I just want to be able to keep my dog. I need to be sure that there is something that I can do to remedy this.
