Getting legal protection for your pet sounds reassuring. But when will you actually need it? We get asked this a lot. And after going through feedback from customers, we’ve identified the two most critical times you need an ESA Letter.

1) To Protect Yourself from Eviction

If you own your apartment or house, you don’t need an ESA Housing Letter. After all, you’re not going to evict yourself!

But if you live in rented accommodation, you’ve living on thin ice.

No matter what it says in your contract, landlords can add new rules and restrictions on a whim.

While they may have been happy for you to move in with your pet poodle, that welcoming attitude can change overnight.

Many times we’ve heard of people waking up to find a letter from their landlord telling them that they now owe an extra pet housing fee or a huge pet deposit.

Even worse, we’ve heard of people getting a knock on their door and being told they’ve got until the end of the month to pack their things and move due to a new “no pets”
policy.

Just imagine it, getting an eviction notice without warning! It can turn your life upside down.

However, if you have an ESA Letter, you won’t face any of these nightmares.

Our ESA Letters give you lock tight protection from extra pet fees, pet deposits or even no pet housing policies.

Best of all, you dont even need to agree a new lease for it to be valid.

Our ESA Letters give you legal protection from the moment they’re approved by one of our qualified mental health professionals.

However, it still takes them two days to approve them. So if you think your landlord may suddenly stop being pet friendly or if you’re moving soon, we recommend you order your ESA Letter right now for peace of mind and to avoid complications down the road.

2. To Protect Your Pet from Flying in Cargo

Did you hear about the French bulldog who died recently after he was jammed into a plane’s overhead locker?

This is the stuff of nightmares. And while pets being stuffed into cabin lockers is rare, a surprisingly high number of pets die being flown in cargo.

As the Humane Society warns: “While most animals flown in the cargo area of airplanes are fine, you should be aware that some animals are killed, injured or lost on commercial flights each year. Excessively hot or cold temperatures, poor ventilation and rough handling are often to blame.”

So if you expect to be flying in the next few months and want to do everything you can to ensure your beloved pet arrives safely, you’ll want to take them in the cabin with you.

But this can be easier said than done.

While awareness on ESAs is growing, there can still be confusion when boarding.

Without an ESA Letter, it’s going to be Russian roulette whether you’ll be allowed to take your pet in the cabin with you.

And that’s even if you’ve bought an extra ticket!

This is why it’s critical to have an ESA Letter.

An ESA Letter gives you the legal right to take them with you. All you need to do is show it when boarding to be waved through without fuss or hassle.

Better yet, with an ESA Letter there’s no need to buy an extra ticket for your pet. So it can pay for itself and save you hundreds of dollars over the year.
